Grade 6 students who will be attending Margaret Mead Junior High School are invited to a special evening on Friday, April 26, 2024. Mead Junior High School will be hosting Welcome to Mead Night from 6:15 to 8:00 pm. All Grade 6 students who will be entering Mead Junior High next year will receive an invitation and permission slip to attend. Our objective is to help ensure that all our new students will feel welcome and comfortable when they enter the next level of their education this fall.
The evening is about providing students with an opportunity to meet students from our other feeder schools. There is no entrance fee to attend and participate. The evening will be chaperoned by Mead faculty members and, with the exception of our Student Ambassadors, no current Mead students will be in attendance. Additionally, there will be a number of activities offered with building tours by our Student Ambassadors throughout the evening. During these tours, incoming students will be able to ask questions about junior high which in turn may help relieve any anxiety about entering Mead. Parents must provide transportation to and from the event. Students should arrive by 6:15 pm and are expected to be picked up promptly at 8:00 pm.
