In the month of April, all District 54 schools will participate in the first annual community service project! District 54 will be supporting the American Cancer Society by fundraising money to make a difference for families. The American Cancer Society strives to improve the lives of people with cancer and their families. They help ensure everyone has the opportunity to prevent, detect, treat and survive cancer. With the help of your donations, the lives of families and patients can be drastically improved.
How can you participate?
Last week, we kicked off our fundraising efforts with students at our all-school assembly and set an all-school goal to raise $2,000. Money can be donated via cash, electronically, or check. All checks can be made out to School District 54. Cash and check can be placed in a sealed envelope and turned in to the main office with the form sent home. We ask that students do not go door to door asking for money. We will also be having a coin collection in the office, so students may bring their extra change to contribute to the cause. Donations would be appreciated between April 14 and May 2.
As we work towards our goal, we will celebrate with incentives, such as spirit days, music in the halls and more. Each school will also have a culminating celebration on May 9th!
