Meet the Stevenson specials teachers!
My name is Lauren Tocmo and this is my eighth year teaching art here at Stevenson. Every year brings new experiences in art class and this year is no exception. Fifth and Sixth graders will be using their Chromebooks throughout the year to manage a digital portfolio, create digital artwork and use just as a general resource tool. I will be incorporating more art challenges at all grade levels, where students will be working collaboratively to problem solve and create beautiful pieces of art, all while exploring a variety of media. I am really looking forward to another creative and fun filled year at Stevenson. Don’t forget to follow @StevensonArt54 on Twitter!
Library Resource Teacher
My name is Mrs. Husnick and I am the new Learning Resource Teacher (LRT) here at Stevenson. It is my fifth year teaching in the building and my ninth year of teaching overall. I am extremely excited about the new opportunities that students will be provided during our time together this year. Students will be exploring, designing, creating and inventing. They will look for possible “problems” in their daily lives and strive to “solve” these problems. Along with all of our new adventures some aspects that will remain the same are diving into and checking out books. Don’t forget to follow @StevensonMakers on Twitter!
My name is Ms. Bella and I am the General Music teacher here at Stevenson. Last year, I was a traveling music teacher in District 54 and came to Stevenson a few hours each day. This year, I am thrilled to be here full time! Students in every grade level can look forward to exploring, creating, and experiencing music through performance, technology, movement, collaborative projects, and instrument exploration. My name is Mr. Argueta and I’m so blessed and excited to be starting my sixth year here at Stevenson with the Stallion Family! The district curriculum for physical education is full of many units including: cooperative games, soccer, locomotor movements, basketball, dance (my favorite), fitness, jump rope, and many more. The focus is always safety first followed by fun and exercise! Students also know that sportsmanship and effort are my expectation, and the keys to success in Physical Education! I’m looking forward to another fun and exciting year with great experiences! Be on the lookout for forms on night events and after school clubs. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. It’s going to be another great year full of exercise and fun!
