Mission & Goals

The Mission of Stevenson School is to ensure that Students and Teachers Achieve Real Success. We will accomplish this mission in partnership with students, families and the community.  

The vision of Stevenson School is to be an exemplary learning community. The Stevenson staff makes these commitments to advance our shared vision.

We are committed to motivate students to take responsibility and pride in their learning and celebrate their successes. We will hold high expectations for student achievement by having students set measureable and achievable goals using assessment data.  

Exemplary teaching promotes the development of critical thinking, creativity, and a global perspective.
We are committed to working in collaborative teams to analyze assessment data to monitor student progress, assist with instructional decisions, and provide appropriate interventions or individualized instruction. We are committed to differentiating instruction to create multiple ways for all students to learn.  

The learning environment promotes and supports a safe, respectful, and responsible culture.
We are committed to implementing our school’s Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports program by clarifying expectations, teaching the behaviors, and recognizing students’ achievements.  We are committed to modeling respectful, responsible behaviors to inspire students to make right choices as they develop into good citizens.  

Families are active partners in all aspects of the educational process.
We are committed to strengthen parent involvement by providing opportunities for volunteerism both in and out of the classroom. We will provide a variety of modes of communication between home and school.  

The community regards Stevenson School as a place of learning excellence.
We are committed to promote and communicate our successes through PTA meetings, newsletters, and newspaper articles. We will be actively involved with the community by attending school activities and functions, service projects, and partnerships.
