Stevenson Summer Olympics!

Everyone at Stevenson School is invited to attend the Stevenson Summer Olympics or Field Day. We hope the day will be filled  with fun activities, sunshine and a good time for everyone.

Date: May 30^th (Wednesday); Rain  date May 31^st (Thursday)

Time: Opening ceremonies will begin at  9:30 and will last throughout the school day

Who will be there: A lot of parent  volunteers and Stevenson Staff will be working hard to make this a special day  for everyone. Each class
should pick a country to represent and wear one of the colors of your country’s flag. All classes should be divided into two teams. (Team A and Team B)

What to bring: Everyone should bring a water bottle and sunscreen. Water stations will be available.  Please dress for  the weather and wear gym shoes. Bring a lot of team spirit and energy!!!

Slipper Day

As a PBIS celebration, all students are invited to where slippers on Monday, May 7. Please make sure to check your child’s teacher’s schedule. If your child has gym on Monday, they will need to bring gym shoes!

Spring Fling

Please come to Stevenson on Friday, May 4th for the Spring Fling! Students can play games and enjoy treats while a silent auction takes place in the teacher’s lounge. Doors will open at 6:30 and close at 9:00. Tickets need to be purchased in order for families to attend the Spring Fling. Remember, all students must be accompanied by an adult! We hope to see you all there!

News from Mrs. Cox: Jump for Heart and Field Day

Congratulations to all the students in grades 1-6 for participating in our Jump For Heart event. As a school we raised over $1,800.00
for the American Heart Association!!! Thank-you everyone that brought in  donations! It was fun to see some parents in PE class jumping rope.

Our next big event will be Field Day on May 30^th. We need many volunteers to help out on this day. It has  been a tradition at Stevenson for the parents to work the stations. The students really enjoy this! The day begins at 9:30 and will end around 2pm. Please email

Calling all scientists and authors!

TODAY, Stevenson will be celebrating our scientists and authors during our Science Fair and Celebrate Reading and Writing night. The annual science fair will take place from 6:00-6:45 in the gym. Celebrate Reading and Writing will begin at 6:30 and end at 7:30. Roam the halls of Stevenson to read various books written by our students. We look forward to seeing you tonight!

Bottle caps

Mrs. Tocmo is collecting plastic bottle caps for an upcoming art enrichment project with the students. Please send in plastic caps, ANY SIZE, ANY COLOR!  They can come from a water bottle, soda bottle, orange juice, apple juice, refill bottles, food containers, detergents, etc.  Please rinse them before sending them in to school.  There is a bucket located outside of the art room door where students can drop them off. Tonight: Rock and Roll Forever!

Just a reminder that the 5th and 6th grade music concert will take place tonight, April 10, at 6:30 p.m. in the gym. We are looking forward to seeing you as the students sing some popular rock and roll songs!

You’re invited to the 5^th & 6^th Grade Rock & Roll Music Concert!  The students have been working very hard on their songs and are ready to share themwith you! 

What: 5^th & 6^th Grade Rock & Roll Music Concert!

When: Tuesday, April 10^th at 6:30pm (students need to arrive at 6:00pm in costume)

Where: Stevenson Elementary School Gym

Who can attend: Family and friends of the performer(s)

********COSTUME*******

Please have your performer wear something related to the 50s genre of clothing. Some examples of 50s clothes include: poodle skirts, scarves, pink lady jackets, blue jeans, white t-shirts, leather jackets, saddle shoes, etc.  If you need more examples of clothes, look at the movie Grease.  The performers only need to wear their costumes for the 6:30pm performance (not for the school dress rehearsal).  Please don’t make any special trips to the store.  Just use what you have around your house!
